Power of the people

Not only was she one of the most educated women of her generation in that part of Africa, obtaining a doctoral degree in veterinary anatomy, but she was also a Nobel peace laureate for her role as an environmental and social activist. She established the Green Belt Movement which focused on better management of natural resources to improve the lives of the people living in that environment.
