I love most of them!

jewaira - November 5, 2009

Are most of them male I wonder? :P

Hning - November 5, 2009

I’m pretty sure BigBird is a girl.
And oscar is neither, because he/she is too old to be either.
But I never thought of Elmo as a boy, just a small, overly whinny child. :P

jewaira - November 5, 2009

Elmo is adorable

Am gonna make the Cookie Monster some chocolate chip cookies today

jessyz - November 12, 2009

I actually never thought about their gender.

jewaira - November 12, 2009

Neither did I until I read an article saying how some new characters had been introduced to increase the number of females on board

2. Ibn-el-Monther - November 5, 2009

I like the charecter that resides in my pants :p~

jewaira - November 5, 2009

A Kuwaiti Sesame Street character! How original!

Ibn-el-Monther - November 5, 2009

You’re a bit quick with generalization.

jewaira - November 5, 2009

am not an original that’s why

Ibn-el-Monther - November 8, 2009

I’m as original as I could be. Sorry if the charecter I introduced didn’t amuse you.

jewaira - November 8, 2009

Hahaha
when you make introductions, you should do so by naming, no?

Ibn-el-Monther - November 8, 2009

His name is Urfavice Creamcone.

jewaira - November 8, 2009

Hahahahaha
Wicked!

I had to vote for Oscar, as he represents an archetypal character. Everyone knows someone like Oscar in real life. He’s a grumpy old soul who, despite presenting an outwardly bluff persona to the world, actually has a heart of gold…

jewaira - November 6, 2009

Hehe, you’re probably right. Most people have no patience to uncover that heart of gold though.

I found it interesting that the Oscar character was indeed inspired by a grouchy waiter in New York and the voice by a cab driver.

And this:
“Through Oscar, children learn about respect and tolerance, and they discover that people with different views and lifestyles can still be great friends. Oscar’s soft spot for his pet worm, Slimey, proves that underneath it all, that curmudgeonly green grump is capable of love too.” http://www.sesamestreet.org/onair/characters/oscar

Love can do wonders.
