Being brave

Was just a sham,

A decoy

to hide

behind,

As I salvaged my pride.

Your poems are interesting jewaira, do they echo your daily experiences??…..if they do then you must lead a very rich life.

anyhow, i have a story to share with you, its about my first day at medical college.
All the newcomers had to touch a dead body at the first day, lucky for me(maybe not) i had to be the first one to touch it (the body was dissected), the body was preserved with formalin which smells like raw paint used at new windows.So after my initiation ceremony, i went home and found the same smell, which i found out came from the freshly painted windows in my room,painted the same day, thanks to my mom.I then had to endure the smell for 3 days which reminded me of the dead body at every waking moment, including during lunch and dinner.I felt as if i was in a Stephan King novel or the twilight zone.

======================

The poems just…come. They echo those voices in there and some voices say things I don’t always understand. Many times it concerns something so personal and so non-consequential that it would be difficult to explain.

With regards to your experience at Med school, I do not envy you having to work with cadavers and I could almost smell your experience! It must have been a most unsettling experience having to smell the paint for 3 days which was so reminiscent of the body you had examined.

The moral is: This is the kind of gibberish you come up with if while under the influence in a country that pump up too much oil. :)

=======================

It is gibberish indeed but not written while under the influence of anything but my consciousness or lack of it :P

Fons Moonen first of all i am not in the middle east ,and i have never been under the influence of any drug or alcohol, and by the way, its a real experience, not a pleasant one, but real.Fons Moonen i am assuming you are not a trained doctor so please dont comment on things which you have no knowledge or experience of, ok.
And the story isnt gibberish, though it might sound long winded, i think its a pretty good premise for a horror story though, just an idea for jewaira.

=========================

I think Fons was referring to my gibberish ;) I am known to speak nonsense in my so-called poems.

Your idea would be a good premise for a psychological thriller though :)

The most honest poetry is that which bubbles up spontaneously from the unconscious mind. It might contain things which, at first glance, are nonsense, but they may have a meaning which requires a further understanding of the metaphors or symbolic linkages formulated in the recesses of the mind.

There is a strong tradition of nonsense poetry in English. Edward Lear and Spike Milligan are great exponents. How much of the imagery of Lewis Carroll consists of slightly subversive metaphor. Who is the queen of hearts? Why a white rabbit? A cake marked ‘Eat me’?… as for Jabberwocky, it’s a brilliant poem in which many of the words were made up as the writer went along.

Nonsense may have more sense than you can possibly imagine.

Stephen,
How are you? It is always a pleasure to have you here :)

A most intriguing perspective. Thank you
