In the following week I hope to post continuations of the Hind series
The story so far in case you have forgotten or don’t feel like reading the juicy details:
Parts I to X were written in 2006 where I have introduced Hind. She is the example of the independent, successful single Kuwaiti woman who has so far stayed away from marriage because of a fear of a man controlling her life. However, her maternal instincts overpower her and she devises a plan to find a man who will father her child and then settle for a divorce. Her choice falls upon Emad, a stateless employee who is devoted to Hind and who she knows she can control. But marrying Emad blows away all her preconceptions and she becomes more attached than she expected she would be.
In parts XI to XV, written earlier this year, Emad has returned to Kuwait to visit Hind and their twin daughters after five years away in Canada. Both Hind and Emad have remarried others but the old flame is still there and they end up rekindling the love between them. Emad finds out that Hind’s marriage to her cousin Fouad is one of convenience and although he is a good provider, he is only a partner in name to hide his gay lifestyle with his lifelong male partner, Rashid.
Hind and Emad spend a night of passion that ends with the sudden departure of a guilty Emad back to Canada to be at his wife’s side after he learns she is in hospital for an ectopic pregnancy. Hind’s mother intercepts Emad’s letter in which he declares his undying love and proposes marriage and so the lovelorn Hind never gets her lover’s message and is too proud to call him and find out. The lovers both end up depressed on their sides of the world. Emad’s wife tries to make amends and to salvage their relationship.
============
In the first Hind series, the theme handles Kuwaiti women who want children but who have not found the right man yet or who fear having a man in their lives will just ruin things for them.
The first Hind series also highlights the social problems faced by the Bedoun/Bidoon stateless person living in Kuwait in the form of Emad.
The second part of the Hind series deals with marriages of convenience and how some Kuwaitis adapt their lives and their alternative sexuality, fit in with the culture and traditions. Not all marriages and relationships are what they seem.
The third part will deal with the consequences of parts I & II.
I can’t wait!

I was thinking about you today and wondering what happened to you
Welcome back here
Jewaira
better than that incomprehensible turkish serial
=========================
Lol Don Veto there’s more than one and it’s got a great many people hooked!
Sanawat al dhaya3 or
Noor
Jewaira
Haha Don Veto! I concur! ;p

And which one do you watch Ms Baker
Do you like the dark haired mustached Yahya or the fair bearded Mohanad
Jewaira
Jewaira – Neither actually, haven’t watched a single episode yet although I seem to have absorbed the jist of Sanawat al Dhaya3 by osmosis. I come home from work at 4 to find every member of my household – including the housekeeping staff – sitting around the flat screen TV in the family room, sniffling as they watch the soulful and soul searching glances of longing transpiring between those gorgeous Turkish actors with their beautiful eyes ( I must say those Turks are quite good looking – both men and women). I sit down and eat a bit of the leftover rice, marag bamya and Indian mango pickle still on the table from lunch and listen patiently as they give me a synopsis of the days episode… and then it’s off to my puffy bed to watch another episode of the first season of “In Treatment” or “My Name is Earl” on my Mac laptop for me LOOL
And that Yahya is more to my taste. Don’t ask me why but I have always had this thing for tall, hirsute, macho looking men LOOL
=======================
Heheh it’s by osmosis with me as well but it’s funny how people are really into the Turkish series now. What you describe in your house is not uncommon lol
Macho men ha? I find Yahya quite dashing as well and what a mustache! And those eyes….
