No men allowed May 5, 2008

When I skim through the newspapers these days, I feel disgusted at all the seemingly false promises I see that are created for the benefit of female constituencies. Suddenly, everyone cares about women’s issues and problems and they will be the chivalrous knights who will ensure that everything will be alright for us once they get into parliament.

What irks me even more are the constant mobile messages and phone calls (both to the house and my personal mobile number) by the so called women’s committees working frantically to support the male candidates.

I did not receive one call asking me to support a female candidate. They were all for men. And many times I was called at an inappropriate moment but I still maintained a polite attitude.

Another thing, no one from these committees called my husband to rally his support (just the interminable mobile messages). Men have their own ways I suppose.

Yes, women are very important. Of utmost importance suddenly.

Wisen up, ladies and gentlemen.

I wish, only wish, we would make one united, wise decision not to vote for anyone who was at any time against women’s freedom.

“I wish, only wish, we would make one united, wise decision not to vote for anyone who was at any time against women’s freedom.”

I am with you, BUT, Dear Lady J, this person might be against women freedom but he is doing very well in other issues… Many of Women freedom support are player and lousy !? let look at the over all outcome not just ONLY women freedom.

I cant express a lot in writing domn it.

I agree that there are other issues of importance besides women’s rights/issues.

However, what I’m saying is that suddenly everyone desires women to support them and rally them when it was not too long ago that many people were against any form of women participating in political life.

It makes you wonder about many things. It makes us a bit pessimistic.

I feel sick reading the paper too. I feel everything being said is manipulative & commercial, “I’m going to do this… I’m going to do that.. bla bla bla”.

We like to talk too much.

Yes.
When these politicians with big words get into government, they should really be held accountable for all their promises.

Those are messages from hell. I just called Wataniya to stop them and they said they cannot coz they do not originate from them, yet they can stop the commercials ads I get. I think that is idiotic, if you allows using your network for such purposes, let people have the choice of blocking content, what is next? I send my privates all over Kuwait??

Good heavens! Please don’t give them any more ideas! Lol

I actually get depressed whenever I read the newspaper. I really hope that the women get their chance in this year’s election. I really have a big faith in their campaign.

I’ve been talking to lots of people and there are many varying opinions. However, it seems that there are some people who feel “safer” and more confident voting for well-known family names, older more experienced men.

Judging by the subjects touched upon in the campaign talks, the candidates are aware of many issues that are important to voters and make many promises.

I guess it is the voters’ job to ensure that those elected do their job when they get into office.
