I am frequently amused by the poll questions on the Al-Qabas internet edition.
The questions are almost always labeled For Men Only and it is interesting to see the poll results although I highly doubt the accuracy or its reflection of the general male population in Kuwait as a whole. I wonder if there are any playful women who vote on these polls and mess them up?
For a couple of days now the question has been:
For Men Only
Is your wife the girl of your dreams?
Out of 884 votes, 449 said yes their wife was the girl of their dreams.
435 voters said no, she was not!
Pretty close I say!

A7!
IT HURTS knowing I am not his dream girl.
!!!!!!!!!!
=========================
Well, what if he was not your dream man either but you were stuck together?
lol
Jewaira
lol I’m assuming they did those polls when their wives were closeby =P They do always have the “good” wife at home taking care of their kids and the mistress on the phone fulfilling their fantasies =P
===========================================
Hush Sushi you’ve let out their secrets lol
Jewaira
liars.
Then again a 50:50 percentage shows that half of the husbands are not happy that they ended up with goats, or vice versa.
=========================

Or maybe they were afraid of 3ain or evil eye and just say that they’re not happy because of that
J
Yeah yeah, she was the girl of my dreams, until I woke up !
=============================
hehe go back to sleep Fonsy!
J
Allow me to declare this poll baloney.
The question to begin with is none applicable to men. A man has so many dream girls, he cannot possibly keep track of them. In a sunny day, she’s a D size dumb hottie, and in another rainy day she’s an A size brainy versifier. In some occasions, only the eyes matter. In other instances, only the feet that count and nothing else.
Time, after committing to a particular woman, will prove to a man that the woman he chose is either more magnificent than his most enchanting dream or worse that his worst nightmare. It’s an either/or situation; there is no middle ground and neither the size nor the feet and eyes are relevant to this drastic situation.
This poll question was the idea of a woman. Who wants to bet?
==============================
Perhaps it was the idea of a woman. We are always trying to get into the minds of men aren’t we?
Jewaira
Forgot to mention that a man continues listing his dream girls till the last beat of his wicked heart.
“يا صاحبيَه الى متى تعذلاني أقصرا شيئا
قد مت حيَاً والمبتلى بالغواني ميتاً حياً
جنى عليّ عذب اللما والمعاني عطرٌ ريّه
هلال كلٍ غزال أنس يفوق سائر الغزلان
ياليت شعري هل لي إليه طريق أو الى السلوان”
That’s the eternal destiny of all living men, as put in a nut shell by a Sufi poet and sang by Khalid Al-Shaikh. Please notice that women are referred to in the plural form (غواني) to describe the eternal struggle and then in a singular form (غزال) to mark the current situation.
=============================
So, are women supposed to forgive men their weaknesses?
Jewaira
Can we assume that the majority (not all) of the men who didn’t marry their “dream wife” are involved in FORCED arrange marriage?
==================================
What are the chances of either sex finding their dream partner? Perhaps not forced marriages but ones in which the man is assisted by his female family members to find a suitable bride simply because he hasn’t or simply because he has no trust in the women he does know.
Jewaira
And as of this morning, the poll results are 50%/50%
Doesn’t sound too convincing.
Jewaira,
It’s not mens’ weakness. It’s their nature. You can’t blame men for the nature they were brought-up into, and subsequently you cannot forgive them.
You can either tolerate them or oppress them. In either case, you cannot change them.
=============
I can tolerate alot and I don’t believe anyone should go into a relationship to change the other person.
But I am not sure that we should say it is “men’s” nature per se and accept it. It is more personality and how the person was raised too.
Jewaira
Hold on. brb.
==============
Hmmm, and where are you off to?
Jewaira
Jewaira,
I’ve known many men from different cultures and backgrounds. Guess what? It’s the same with them.It is universal.
If it’s a “nurture” case as you argue, then it must’ve been impeded in our genes long long time ago and I’m talking BC here.
That’s what men evolved (or were created) to be: polygamists; that, of course, doesn’t mean they all practice polygamy.
I cannot wait to see women evolving to become able to tolerate and also appreciate men’s polygamous nature.
==============================
I am ready to understand and accept men’s polygynous nature… as long as they evolve as well to tolerate and appreciate some women’s leaning towards polyandry.
Jewaira
I’m sure a modern day polygamist appreciates polyandrists. Why?
A second marriage is either prohibited or not feasible; a monogamous female gets too attached; and polyandrist tend to be discrete.
Maybe I should start writing the “Polygamist’s Guidebook.”
===============================
What a marvelous idea for interested parties DevilFinch.
I do encourage you to share your exploits with those who are interested
Jewaira
Yeah Jewaira. I’m not the right person to do that–God forbids. I think someone who practices polygamy would be a perfect writer for such diabolic guidebook
=========================
Take a firm stance, my man!
What is this wishy washiness. Once you say you mean to write the Polygamist’s Guidebook and the next moment you are retracting your statements!
Lol! Athraak itkhaaf min wazeerat edakheliyyah
Good, good…
Jewaira
Went to sleep.
============
Poor dear. It must be hard.
Jewaira
Wow Jewaira. I’ve never seen you over-reacting before. Sorry I disappointed you.
Eee akhaf min wazeerat eddakhiliya wel kharijiyaa wel si77a wel difa3….etc ma a6ree esimhaa aslan. Ma agol ella 6al 3omrich. Min khaf selam

Devil Finch
I see you are very well oriented in the aspects of dealing with vital ministerial roles in your life
As for my over-reacting, well…I pride myself on my self-restraint but you brought out the impassioned side of me
Jewaira
Indeed, it is.

My sympathies, dear Slightly-non-Random
Jewaira
I have to say that, while I married the girl of my dreams, the woman she became is someone whom I could neither have imagined nor have dreamed.
===========================
She is one lucky woman to be so appreciate
