I thought this article was promoting voluptuousness.
Instead it is a promotional write up for a gym called Curves which recently opened in Cairo. At this gym, oppressed Egyptian women are free to cast off the hijab and have fun away from the daily restrictions of life as a Muslim.
I had a look at the comments and it never ceases to amaze me how these people still continue to stereotype Arabs and Muslims.

In the news today, we read of two horrible criminal cases.
The first case concerns a Sri Lankan house maid in Granada area in Kuwait who was found to have strangled her newborn and put him in the washing machine where he subsequently died. One newspaper reported the maid had only been with her employer a month or so. The Sri Lankan woman is now in intensive care.

The other case is of a four month old baby (in some accounts, 5 months, in others 6 months) who was being buried alive by Filipina house maid in a sandy desert area. When questioned, the Filipina confessed that the baby belonged to her female Kuwaiti sponsor who had instructed her to dispose of him by burial to hide the shame of having a baby out of wedlock.
In the second case, the baby was half-buried but still alive.
These are horrible crimes against innocent lives regardless of the reasons.
But why not, instead of simply passing criticism, review the frequency of such cases of unwanted pregnancies and resultant criminal acts and analyze the situations and how they can be minimized in future.
Unwanted pregnancies do occur for many reasons. How does the state protect the rights of the unborn child/newborn and the health of the mother in these cases? We must for a start, admit the existence of a problem and analyze the ways in which it can be dealt with.
