Muslim Men February 4, 2008

I came across a thought provoking post at Unique Muslimah’s blog which examines the different types of Muslim men she has encountered.

First type is the everything-is-haram man; the second type is everything-is-halal-type; and the third is the one who is in the middle “just right” (sounds like the story of the Three Little Bears).

I wonder if we can put men into neat little categories like that and finally understand them properly.

I don’t think its that simple, I don’t think its even possible with women!

Too many different kinds of men… I think men are like steaks.. that is what you can compare them to, some are lean and some have that extra something! lol

==================

Now that’s a description that I can digest :P

I disagree with Marzouq. It is that simple. I’ve encountered so many men in my life (family, school, uni) and i did notice that they fall into these 3 categories. I noticed that the ones in the middle can sometimes lean towards one of the other two categories.

Yes, that is an interesting observation.

What about those really free men who turn ultra conservative later on?

Or vice versa.

Personally I like moderation – extremes on either side rattle me.

I am on the other end of the complex spectrum z.#

Indeed Random, you are :P

I am a liberal Muslim but I am conservative in some areas (i.e. drinking alcohol) but liberal in some areas as well (i.e. hanging out with girls in public place).

So just like This Lady mentioned, I can be considered on the middle but I’m leaning toward the liberal category more at the same time.

For me, I am big fan of faith rather than the concept of religion, but that’s another issue that would take me a whole post to explain.

=================================

It’s ok Angelo

We are all confused by you men anyway :P

Men aren’t that confusing. Women just have small brains.

===========================================

I shall humour.

Women may have small brains but some men don’t have them at all; or at least not in the right places.

A lot of them claim to be liberal or in the middle.. But inside they’re as close minded as you can get

=======================================

Yes, I think it’s to do with emotional and mental security; confuses them

Good Stuff, and women just can’t get enough.

Of a good thing? Certainly not

Grin,
I think the try to understand each other and categorize will go on until we are all gone from the face of earth.
I like the steak explanation :D

(And thanks for enlightening me about the house blessing! :) )
