I wake up at 4:30 these days in order to get to Mass at the Catholic Church in the City. My roommates and I take the bus into the City from Salmiya. That early in the morning it only takes ten minutes to get there. We Philipinos like to go before we start work and when we come back home it is still early to go to work.

It’s nice early in the morning. There is no traffic at all. We reach the City fast.

The Church is full of Philipinos for the 6 a.m. Mass. We went yesterday and this morning. The Mass is projected onto screens outside for those who cannot find place within the church. It’s very full. The service is in our language.

Our church is the Catholic church and it is now I think 51 years old. They are working on it and it is under the supervision of the Ministry I think. There is another Orthodox church nearby.

There are many bus services to choose from now and it only costs 150 fils to get to the City. 250 fils if you want to go further to Jahra or to Fahaheel. The best service is the KPTC; before there used to be Egyptian drivers who were very rude and aggressive, but now it is better with the Indian drivers. It is improved. The men don’t bother us – they are afraid. Only sometimes the young boys, they make problems.

Sometimes when I am late, I take a taxi. But we are not taking transport now. It is not safe. Transport means those private cars offering us rides. We go either by bus or by taxi only. And bus is much better now because there are too many companies to choose from.

We will go every day to church till Christmas. I have the day off then.

I’ve been to that catholic church as a kid, and it hasn’t changed much even now!

I’m not a catholic by the way :)

Do you think it will be okay for a Kuwait (that looks like a muslim, but isnt) to attend a service? I am interested in learning more. And yes I am glad to see that you are happy too :)

Philipino is not the correct spelling but it is FILIPINO. Who ever you are you are the most stupid person in the world to not have known that!

Your comment shows what kind of person you are and how you were raised.

When a person wants to correct another person’s knowledge or information, it is done in a polite manner.

Which reminds me, there is a baqqalla (little corner shop) in Salmiya called Pilipino Food (another odd way to spell Philipino/Filipino)
