Tread Lightly March 3, 2007

Tread lightly

On the moonlit

Path

Mysterious one

Be wary

Of twigs

And stones

That crunch

Beneath

The rubber souls

Of your shoes

I wait for You

Only,

In the shadow of the

Moonlight

Behind the screen

A figure full

Of anticipation

Swiftly

Silently

We intertwine

Under luminescent

Moonbeams

Rapacious desires

Assuaged

Tempered

Temporarily

Appeased

By your dark presence

Moonlight

Reflected off

My naked skin

At the witching hour

Willingly possessed

No higher elation

Than being here

With you

Tonight

You seem … what’s the phrase? … in need? … of late.

Are you?

—————-

You shouldn’t ask…because you already understand and know the answer in the way that only another woman can.

Was it not quite creepy to wait in the dark all alone? Don’t do that again, the world is full of doggers ;) .

Jewaira, I love your poetry. Lovers everywhere were in a loving mood last night at the full moon, and tonight, with the lunar eclipse, they will be in an even greater state of need. You have a wonderful way of expressing your feelings.

I love the new photo on your blog, Jewaira, but Autumn? Why not Spring? It is the time of year for blossoms and color. Perhaps Monet. Perhaps the photo reflects your Autumn mood.

Thank you for your kind words PhantomMan.

I have not had time to fiddle with the template; in fact it is the newest WordPress template and I did not alter it. I usually customise the header but due to technical difficulties (sounds professional doesn’t it :P ) I have not gotten around to it yet.

I wanted a new template… you can always tell when I am restless…

You’re writing poetry about blogging!
The twigs and stones are the dangers we run, expressing our ideas in public.

You wait . . . by the SCREEN.

Your intercourse is – verbal!

But . . . you are not assuaged.

(OK OK just kidding, but a luminescent poem, Lady J.)

Now that is what I call a very deep reading of these lines. Loved your interpretation :)

rubber souls is used deliberately instead of rubber soles

yes, it was “niggling” at my creative conscious for hours until I clarified it

8. PseudoRandom - March 3, 2007

Your clarification is confusing.

sorry about that.

As for the Lunar eclipse i have only one thing to say for Muslims and Muslima’s.

“Salaat al-Kusoof”

Lovely poem.

Thanks Imran. Would love to hear your account of the Khusoof

Very nice! I like moonlit nights, especially when I’m riding down the highway and I could see the moon out of the corner of my eye. Its funny being single has its ups and downs! :)

Keep your eyes on the road! Having me worried now! Lol!

Well Lady J, i am sure you know about Salaat al-Kusoof, long long ago, at times of Prophet Muhammed (SAW), use to run to Masjid, like his life was in danger, and use to ask others also to join him this salat.

It is a very long salat, back breaking, and leg cracking, and a punishing one. When ever a lunar or a solar eclipse happened, they all use to congregate and pray this salat for he always use to fear that may be Allah has send a punishment upon his people and him.

The salat i prayed was in Markaz, in Sharjah, the power had gone off, and i was sweating like i was just soaked in rain, back complaining, each and every muscle complaining with pain and ache, knees crying out with pain, but we all stood and listened to the Imam, and prayed.

The Lunar eclipse was surely a beautiful sight, but i choose to avoid it and spend time in something more useful.

Imran thanks for sharing your experience with us.

He also said this to his followers at that time and Allah was the witness:

“The sun and the moon are two signs of Allah; they are not eclipsed on account of anyone’s death or on account of anyone’s birth. So when you see them, glorify and supplicate Allah, observe the Prayer, give alms. O Ummah of Muhammad, none is more indignant than Allah when His servant or maid commits fornication. O people of Muhammad, by Allah, if you knew what I know, you would weep much and laugh little. O Allah, witness, I informed them.”

Salat al-kusoof (solar eclipse Prayer) is sunnah mu’akkadah (confirmed sunnah) for both male and female believers. It is better to offer it congregationally in the mosque. Its time is from the beginning of the eclipse till it clears away. There is no adhan for the Prayer, but it should be announced, as stated earlier, with “as-salatu jami`ah.”
