Good question, PseudoRandom.
In my case, there are fake sounding love songs and there are genuine sounding love songs.
I really think it all depends on your emotional/romantic state at the time.
When one is in love, one can get silly, and really see the world through rosy lenses and even the simplest love song sounds wonderful.
I found this to be a very happy and positive song, that reiterates Piaf’s belief in the wonder of love despite the many incidents of sadness in her life.
